08/07/99 At last I have made a start with our homepage. Let me introduce ourselves first: Hai, I'm Foort, 40 years old, originally from the Netherlands, but now living in Jakarta,Indonesia, with my family. Then there is Leneke, my wife (already for 11.5 years ..woh!)Dutch, almost 39 years, but still looking 30....and then the children...3 BOYS: Thabiso (10 yrs), Samnang (almost 6 yrs) and Chamroeun (3 yrs). Because of my work as Water Supply and Sanitation expert for Developing countries we are living mostly outside the Netherlands : 5 years in Botswana 6 years in Cambodia now in Indonesia for at least 2 years, but probably it will become 6 years. The children go to a wonderful Dutch Primary School close to our house; Leneke is involved there as well, first as replacement teacher, but starting this August as part-time teacher (for Playgroup).. later when Chamroeun joins Kindergarten, she will probably move up as well. We have a beautiful house in the Soutern suburb of Jakarta, with plenty space inside and a swimming pool outside! I work just south of the center of Jakarta, which is 30 minutes - 1.5 hour from my house, depending on when I leave. Becasue my work involves all public water companies in Indonesia I have to travel regularly, specially when my language skills in Bahasa Indonesia improve. We wil update this homepage as much as possible with photo's, stories by the children, backgrounds on Indonesia, latests developments for my work, the school and our football activities. We like many things : Leneke & Foort : reading, puzzles, write letters (Leneke), tv/video, holidaytrips, foortball (foort), swimming Children : football, karate, watching tv/video, computer games , LEGO, playing with friends from school, swimming So far we did not visit many places in Indonesia, only around Jakarta and Yogyakarta, but the coming years we plan to see a lot more ...... | |||||||||||||||||||
